A gang of drunken-British-soccer-hooligan-lout-yobs assaulted three fancily dressed older men last week in London.
One of the well-dressed men was Corporal Mark Donaldson of the Australian Special Air Service. Corporal Donaldson was in London wearing a suit and tie because he'd just left a reception after an audience with the Queen. Her Majesty had just granted Corporal Donaldson the Victoria Cross.
Corporal Donaldson was the first Australian to win his country's highest military honor since Vietnam. He won it for his courage in running 80 yards, alone, over open ground under heavy Taliban fire to save a wounded comrade, then lifting and carrying his comrade back to the safety of NATO lines.
