I just finished deposing an alleged expert witness. What he had to say isn't important. What he looks like and what he wears to a deposition when the plaintiff's firm is holding "casual Friday" is.

You do not enhance your credibility by wearing a blue polo shirt and white slacks to your deposition. If he'd worn a suit, I wouldn't have noted the resemblance. As it stands, all three of my fellow defense attorneys noticed the resemblance. And laughed. Often.
Since I supply the court reporting firm with significant revenue, however, I can be sure that my guffaws will not appear as <laughter> in the transcript.
