And in fact it has no costumed superheroes at all, but then it has no manga. Former Marvel editor Dan Fingeroth's list of his top ten graphic novels is spot-on, and well worth reading if you have interest in the form. As a teaser, I'll give you entries one through five, the least surprising of the bunch:

- Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi
- The Quitter, by Harvey Pekar
- A Contract With God, by Wil Eisner
- It's A Good Life, If You Don't Weaken, by "Seth"
Having read five of the works on Fingeroth's list, I approve of his taste, and am inclined to explore it further.
