"Academic politics is the most vicious and bitter form of politics, because the stakes are so low." – attributed to Wallace Sayre.
Ordinarily I'd never link to an online dispute between academics, concerning an arcane question of probate history as it relates to a little interpreted amendment to the United States Constitution. But law professor Jim Lindgren at the Volokh Conspiracy, who is engaged in such a dispute with the unfortunately named Carl Bogus, another such professor, has written one of the most thorough, comprehensible, and ultimately devastating flames that I have ever read, constructing most of his flame from Bogus's own words.
Truly a model for us all to follow.
