At around the beginning of the year we installed a certain piece of filtering software to catch rogue comments from bots, spammers, and splogs. The filter has served us well, so well that sometime this morning it will capture its 2000th comment since installation. That's pretty good for a small blog like ours.
I'd like to think that the 2000th filtration will be something unique, but odds are that it will be another cialis or rolex watch ad, a comment from a robotic link blog seeking to raise its ranking in google ("Popehat has an interesting post on comprehensive self installing set of oblivion mods and omods the popehat oblivion omod project or POOP – let's see"), or gibberish. Or just perhaps, the rarest of all, a legitimate comment that winds up in the trap because the commenter used a word the filter doesn't like.
What do you think it will be? Tell us in the comments. The most accurate answer, or in the alternative and at my discretion, the most amusing answer, will receive a small prize of no great worth.
