The city of Chicago has reversed its ban on foie gras. Dozens of bird liver junkies rejoiced at the news that they can soon rejoin society.
"All of us are so excited," Durand told reporters as he held his pet duck, Nicolai, named after French President Nicolas Sarkozy. "People miss it. They used to go to the suburbs to get foie gras and stopped going to specifically French restaurants."
Only a first step. Let's hope the city keeps its pledge to provide meaningful treatment for addicts, including the free fork exchange programs and bacon clinics these people need to stay clean.
