Your Friday Should Have Played A Lot More Mario Games

Today's timewaster is a screenshot quiz of video game history. I've played a few times now, and I have typed names from my past. Heck, Moon Patrol and Marathon came up for me! Enjoy Geek Mind.

Sure, I have my quibbles with their choices – for instance, I have no idea how I am supposed to know the difference between Super Mario Bros 2 and Mario World, but that might just be my early Sega bias showing. Plus, I have an annoying habit of typing Marion when I mean Mario, which hurts my time.

Definitely take advantage of the hints when you need them. They aren't too obvious in most cases, but are helpful.

OK, I'm off to try to get that elusive gold medal. My best score so far is 3000.

    They didn't accept "The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker" where they wanted "Wind Waker."

    I demand a refund.

    That's a fun quiz. I really like the wide range of games they included — I may not be able to pick out early Nintendo games, but I sure do recognize Canabalt.

    Dan, think of it like calling Pinot Noir "Pinot Noir" instead of merely "Pinot" around a bunch of wine snobs. Technically correct but a faux pas.

    This has produced way too many "Oh what the hell was that thing…" moments for me. Other than that my only quibbles are things like "Doctor Mario" vs. "Dr. Mario" (the former flies, the latter doesn't), and how the flaming hell I am supposed to know which of the over 9000 versions of pokemon for the gameboy that is.

    I just want to say that I have no time for your Friday timewasters anymore. I'm wasting too damn much of my time trying to figure out how to stop wasting my time on Sporcle. Not a day has gone by since your post introducing me to that site that I have not cursed your name and farted in your general direction.

    Worse than that, since he's on a timer and I'm not, when he gets stumped he sends ME to google. It's wasted my time and I've not even played the damn thing!
