Bad analogy. Castro, Mao, or Chavez don’t maltreat or abuse their Hollywood groupies. They tyrannize the people under them. The Hollywoodsters then cover for them.

A better analogy would be the small-town cops who are all buddies of some local fatcat who beats and terrorizes his wife. Or the college sports boosters who cover up abuses by star athletes.
