Facebook's Excuse: It's a Halloween Thing?

Technology

Facebook just suggested that I "poke" a high school classmate.

This particular high school classmate died tragically young this summer of cancer.

Apparently I'm not the only one getting creeped out by this sort of thing.

Facebook is also suggesting, in so many words, that I make suggestions to help make certain friends' profile pages less lame.

Facebook is kind of a dick, isn't it?

    Agreed.

"Write on [so-and-so's] wall." "Poke [so-and-so]". I don't get why someone thought this was a good idea. The fact that Facebook tried to get you to reconnect with a dead friend is even more disturbing. I don't get why they couldn't have just left well enough alone.

Facebook has been suggesting that a friend of mine doesn't have enough friends and I should help him find more. But he has *twice* the number of friends I do.

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY, FACEBOOK?! YOU THINK I CAN'T TAKE A GOD DAMNED HINT!? I'M PERFECTLY HAPPY WITH WHO I AM!
