How d&#039;you figure?  This was a survey.  I didn&#039;t see a mention of people opining unprovoked that a woman should take her husband&#039;s name.

The 50% who think it should be required by law are statists, too, as opposed to nosy, ISTM.

Then again, look at European countries where potential given names must be on an approved list.</description>

<p>How d'you figure?  This was a survey.  I didn't see a mention of people opining unprovoked that a woman should take her husband's name.</p>
