I don’t know why I’m calling this “Morning Round Up,” as we don’t have an institution of “Round Ups” here, but it sounds nice.
- Congratulations to Gail Trimble, who almost singlehandedly defeated Manchester University to win Britain’s University Challenge trivia competition. And shame on the louts who seem to resent her for, well, being an intelligent woman.
- Should the United States hire Lalu Yadav to take over Amtrak? He has after all brought India’s bewilderingly chaotic rail system, which dwarfs our own, into profitability for the first time. Perhaps we should give him control of something bigger, like the government.
- Honesty in the entertainment industry comes from unlikely sources.
- Markoff Chaney lives!
