I'm A Little Embarrased to Admit This..

Culture

But I really like the new "Single Women" song from Beyonce. Enough that I actually bought the track from iTunes. Just adding to the most horrible but eclectic mix of music around. We should do a shuffle challenge where we note down the 5 tunes that come up when we hit random play. In fact, I'll start it off:

1) Another Postcard – Bare Naked Ladies

2) I Can't Get Behind That – William Shatner & Henry Rollins

3) This Low – Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova "Once"

4) St. Elsewhere – Gnarls Barkley

5) I Go to Extremes – Billy Joel

Good lord, that is awful…

    Let's see, Kelric's random five songs are…

    Everclear – Heartspark Dollarsign
    Rancid – Daly City Train
    Millencolin – Olympic
    Ludacris – Mouthing Off
Husker Du – What's Going On

That looks like a basic snapshot of my mp3s. One mediocre song, one song I actually like (yay, Rancid!), then three songs that I have no idea what they sound like or where I got them from and will probably never listen to. I blame Emusic from when it was still unlimited downloads. And… really… Ludacris? I don't even like rap.

J.S Bach, Motet: Loben Den Herm Alle Hiden, BWV 230
    G. Verdi, "Al suon del tamburo," from La Forza del Destino (Price/Domingo)
The Eagles, "I Can't Tell you Why" from Hell Freezes Over

    1. The Who – Join Together
    2. Imogen Heap – Goodnight and Go (Live)
    3. Fine Young Canibals – Move to Work
    4. Erasure – Hideaway
    5. Roxette – Cry

Not bad. There is lots lamer stuff that could have come up. Songs 1 to 4 I'd still happily listen to. Song 5 … well, notwithstanding the fact that I really liked that Roxette album in college, it hasn't aged very well.

    1. Ragged Old Truck – Billy Joe Shaver
    2. 2112 – Rush (Oddly, after the Penn game on Saturday night I stood out on the main drag in Chapel Hill with an official of the Federal Reserve and an FBI agent screaming "We are the priests of the temples of Syrinx" at people half our age. Odder, one of them joined us.)
    3. Can't Get You Out Of My Head – Kylie Minogue.
    4. Wild Young Men – Ruth Brown
