In Memoriam, Simon T. Cat, 1990-2008

Life

I'll miss you pal.  You came close to breaking my ribs when I met you, because of the allergy, but we got through that.  I never liked your meow, because it was more of a shriek, but it's a breed thing, not you.  Despite all that, you were a champ, and you loved me. It wasn't fair of me to bring all of those dogs into your life, but I admit was never worthy of you.

A better man than I, Simon T. Cat.  Saying Goodbye is hard.  Rest in peace.

Man, Siamese cats and Popehat bloggers just go together. It was in the first genesis of Popehat that I had to put my beloved Fred to sleep. I still haven't got another cat, because I'm not sure another one can take the place of the Old Man. Here's to Simon. I hope he & Fred are lazing around in the Sun dreaming about the great hunters they believed themselves to be.

    Sorry to hear about that.

Our deepest condolences, Patrick. Losing a four-legged furry companion is one of the hardest things we have to go through. Try to focus on the good times and how great Simon's life was in a loving home.

When I was a wee lad, getting into D&D (and also fresh off reading the Star Ka'at books, no doubt), me and my regular DM created a world where Cats were a powerful magicusing race that were at war with various entities. Several of the former and current family pets made up the key members.

I like to envision Simon T Cat in that world, fighting against the rising tide of eldritch beings alongside Cuddles, Black Magic, Tiger, Thor, and Cowboy (among numerous others).

My condolences. 18 years is a long time. I'm sure he lived a wonderful life in a loving home.

What a cool looking cat. Not just his markings, but especially his attitude.

    Celebrate the friendship.

Ohhh, nooo. I met Simon the Cat. His shrieking meeeooowww was disquieting indeed, but he was a good, affectionate elderly cat. Fare thee well in cat heaven, old kitty.
