But Like A Poor Marksman, You Keep Missing The Target

Politics & Current Events

Psychopath Jim D. Adkisson, who shot eight people, killing two, at a Knoxville Tennessee Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, was just a nice guy who "had issues with Christianity":

Jim D. Adkisson, 58, has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, which killed one and injured eight others.

He is being held on $1 million bond.

"He had his own sense of belief about religion, that's the impression I got of him," said neighbor Karen Massey. "We were talking one day when my daughter graduated from Bible college, and I told him I was a Christian, then he almost turned angry.

"He seemed to get angry at that."

So in order to demonstrate his issues with Christianity, he shot up a church. Genius! There's just one problem: Unitarian Universalists aren't Christians. At least not in any traditional sense of the word, the same way that they're not Muslims and not Hindus.

Since Jim D. Atkisson is so spiritually muddled, befogged, and confused, if would be nice if, when the time comes, he doesn't have to face spiritual doubt in being judged by the loving Creatress Great Spirit(s) that these Unitarians may or may not have worshipped, but from the God of Jonathan Edwards.  It would be karma.

Or maybe he hated liberals and loved talk radio.

Watch for the right-wing web sites and news organizations to go with the "this is tragic, but liberals sure make people angry" approach.

The freepers are apparently going with this as evidence of a need for more heavily armed parishioners.

Hates Christianity as a religion. Hates liberalism as a political philosophy.

Could this be the first mass murder committed in the name of objectivism?

I would have expected an objectivist mass murder to be committed via, or at least preceded by, an extremely long-winded speech.

I bet this guy is really pissed about things not going as planned. He was supposed to be shop by the cops. Damn. Now he has to answer to his crime. This should be interesting/sick/pathetic. Also, he looks like a drunk.
