Suppose We Agree That The Town Can't Show The Movie, But it Has The RIGHT To Show The Movie?

In 1979 the town of Aberystwyth, Wales banned the movie Life of Brian for blasphemy.

Now Aberystwyth Mayor Sue Jones-Davies is attempting to lift the ban.

She's got a stake in it; Sue Jones-Davies, before she became Mayor, was an actress. Her roles included Judith Iscariot, Brian's hookup and dogmatic betrayer in the satirical movie.

It's a funny old world.

    To answer Brian's question – the scene wasn't just TOPless; yes that was indeed the Right Honourable Mayor.

    The film is being shown in Aberystwyth today. In addition to Jones-Davies, Michael Palin and Terry Jones will be in attendance.
