We had a case a few years back (unfortunately enough that I can't readily find a publicly accessible copy of the unpublished opinion) in which the North Carolina Court of Appeals reversed a trial judge's probation condition requiring the defendant to wear a shirt emblazoned with the words "CONVICTED DOPE DEALER" whenever he went about in public. If I'd had the sense to start a t-shirt company, I could have made loads of money with that shirt. Oh that's nothing. It was quite a shock to learn that they were within their rights to do so.
