My first reaction was to post what Bob posted. The story itself is pretty amazing. If I ever need to send a pilot back into trouble to retrieve another pilot – I will be sure to keep John McCain on the short list.

The Arizona Republic has more information on this story here. And I've read similar comments Bob, but generally in places like white supremacist / Ron Paul / right wingnut / left moonbat forums. If the joke was about the media, it was a good one. If it wasn't, hmmm. I blame the inefficacy of the internet at conveying tone.
