Andrew Sullivan is giving Louisiana Senator David Vitter, known for his legislative efforts to stop the spread of fluidborne pathogens, a hard time for blocking restriction on travel to the United States by HIV-positive foreigners.

As Josh Marshall points out, Vitter is notorious as an alleged (but denied) patron of prostitutes.

C'mon guys. A man's life may be at stake here!

    Well, exactly! Thousands of people come into this country every day. Many of them are hot, at least after a few drinks, and it is entirely possible that Vitter will want to pay one or more of them for hurried, largely dysfunctional sex. Should he play roulette?
