Put On Your Prognostication Hats And Talk About The Electoral Split In Our Forums

Politics & Current Events

The less I say about last night's Democratic primary results the better. I've already tipped my hand about how Hillary Clinton managed to convert me from neutral to distaste, and there's not much point in me describing how listening to her speech Tuesday night made me want to swerve into oncoming traffic.

I will note that if you are looking for a glimpse into the abject dysfunction that is the dark side of political fervor, swing on over to Talk Left. TalkLeft was once an excellent place to learn about political and legal issues from the prospective of a thoughtful criminal defense lawyer — one I had a great deal of respect for (and still do, in legal matters — Jeralyn resisted the leftist pressure to join the mob condemning the Duke lacrosse players, and instead viewed that case from a defense perspective). Since Jeralyn and Armando a.k.a. Big Tent Democrat jumped on the hate-Barack bandwagon, though, they've become Squeaky Fromme and Tex Watson to Hillary's Charles Manson. Read the comments on any Hillary or Obama themed thread if you can stomach the venom. Take care not to disagree, though, or the howls of "site violation! site violation!" will ring in your ears. Here's a representative sample, which as of this writing has been "rated" a 4.2 out of 5 by 5 voters:

He's being PAID to lose. (4.20 / 5) (#299)

He has to be. I suspected it all along, especially after super Tuesday when he lost the Catholic vote in Mass by 30 points and the hispanic vote in California by over 75%.

It was obvious to ANYONE then that he didn't have a bat in hell chance at the General then and if you're a total rock, at least a day after with his Pastor and wife on tape screaming "GD America" and all about whitey holding them down.

He'd have to be a fool to thnk he can win a general and Barrack Obama is no fool. But he also isn't a Democrat. He'a a hood without any scruples for sale to the lowest bidder.
That should be clear now to EVERYONE including his shrillest supporters.

And honestly it doesn't matter if every single bathrobed lefty Obama apologist comes to their senses right now. It's too late. As someone else noted the election will be decided by those Catholics in Pennsylvania, and "hillbillies" in KY and WVA, and hispanics in CA and down in TX whose vote you stole in stupid caucuses – not to mention the elderly in Florida.

It's over. It's so over. The only question is how much was Barrack Obama paid and what was he promised to fk this up for the Dems.

Alternatively, join a promising discussion in our forums about the vice presidential choices and electoral fortunes of McCain and Obama. Prognosticate away! Red State, Blue State, and Battleground State talk abounds. No site violation threats. No poo-flinging monkeys.

I am most sad that I will no longer be able to laugh at the delusional hand wringing at Talk Left. The comments section there really is completely awesome. I hope one day that we are big enough that we can get 300 completely insane and delusional comments within 8 seconds of making a post. Tis the stuff of dreams.

Awesome. Some of them still haven't accepted reality: "She can't campaign for him before the convention. His illusionary victory can disappear in a heartbeat if yet another Rev Wright/Ayers type scandal finds its way to the media. She is still in a virtual tie, and remains a viable candidate for winning the nomination at the convention."

    Does she?
