2 Quick Thoughts From the NBA

I was just watching the Orlando – Detroit game, and 2 things struck me as strange.

1. The Orlando Magic play at the Amway Arena. Amway? Really? Does each player have to sell another team to 10 other people?

2. They flashed to a shot of a player shooting free throws, and one could see on the scoreboard behind them the stock market information for the day (Dow Jones and S&P were what I saw..) I've been to many different sporting events here in the center of the digital world, and never seen financial information flashed on the score board. Do you think Rashard Lewis is wondering if he should sell his shares of Apple?

    One last thought from watching last night. TNT is the worst hype machine I have seen in a long while. I don't know who Tyler Perry is, and I don't know what I ever did to him, but could he please stop being seriously funny? And could Kyra Sedgewick's freaky botox face stop popping up very 45 seconds? It got so bad that their studio hosts actually were making fun of the ads.

    Don't even get me started on the chicanery of David Stern towards the Sonics. My friend Dan is a huge Sonics fan, and is pretty pissed. I like the rule ESPN's Bill Simmons came up with that if a team has won a championship in the City, it can never move.
