France Wants You To Laugh At It

Politics & Current Events

There's no other way to explain why 73 year old Brigitte Bardot is being prosecuted for the crime of being a cranky old lady.

Ms. Bardot has some pretty strong opinions about animal rights, and about French culture, and she's, just possibly, a bit of racist in her old age.  But comments that would be laughed off in any other civilized country (Canada excepted) are a crime in France.  Specifically, Bardot has been brought up on charges for condemning the Muslim practice of slaughtering sheep without anesthesia.

The Goddess of Free Speech

A reminder of Bardot in happier times, when the country she still symbolizes wasn't run by barking moonbats.

So — the question is, is this French influence on Canada, or is it Canadian influence on France? Oh, well. If dramatic convention required any country to wet itself, jurisprudentially speaking, over a cranky 73-year-old …..

Yeah, let's kill all those filthy sand-nigger muslims!

Oh, yes, very good point, Bob. Because thinking it is ludicrous to prosecute a 73-year-old for obnoxious and racist jabbering obviously means you must support all the particulars of what she says.
