I wish I had thought of the "if anyone was offended" defense. I actually have a grand plan (no doubt doomed to failure) to write an ongoing series about my time in Americorps, and the time I referred to a rather angry segment of the African American corpsmembers as "you people" in a heated meeting on racism is going to be a centerpiece.
