Wingnut Civil War?

Politics & Current Events

Former United States Congressman Bob Barr (R-Mars, L-Ceres) is about to bigfoot his way into Presidential politics, courtesy of the Libertarian Party. I'm not sure what Barr is best known for in party circles, but in the world at large he's known for his role as "House manager" in the Clinton impeachment effort, a deep fear of witches, a very mixed though ultimately favorable record on civil liberties, and his smokin' hot mustache.

Bob Barr has a mustache and he\'s not afraid to use it.

There's even talk of a Bob Barr-Mike Gravel (or depending on your preference) a Mike Gravel-Bob Barr dream ticket. All of this leads libertarians, anarchists, goldbugs, and Bilderberg agonists to the question: What is to be done about Ron Paul?

I'd like to write a one-act play about what caused his remarkable about-face on drug legalization.

    Lust for power.

I love the desperately hopeful tone of that article. Especially when they trumpet that Barr will get 2 media announcements if he decides to run.

Send Them A Message — Vote for Bob Barr! I know I will. McCain lost my vote in 04 when he went with team Bush! I may be a RRLC (Religious Right Leaning Conservative) but I'd rather see Obama in the WH (even if I will not vote for him)! All the R's stand for these days is unneeded unfunded wars, even bigger government than the D's and one that is definitely NOT a government of the people, by the people, for the people! Send them a message!

Ordinarily I'd delete Ron Paul Fan's comment as obvious spam, but I'll let it survive because I'm impressed by the speed with which it arrived.

Internet libertarians must have cyborg implants these days, they react so quickly.

Yes. Their facility with Google bespeaks a competence that is pleasingly novel for libertarians.

I'm pleased that RRLC is apparently so common in his circles that it has an accepted acronym, but that he felt the need to spell it out for us anyway.

Isn't Bob Barr also known for appearing in Borat? Eating cheese made from Borat's wife's titties?

Did I just make for some interesting google searching on the next Long Road to Popehat?
