That wasn't so bad, was it?  Unless you're one of the 80,000 offended Muslims and SignatureBots who have a problem with any graphic depiction of Muhammad, any time, anywhere.

I'll note that Wikipedia's response to those who seek to remove the images from its site, or to insert "(pbuh)" after any reference to Muhammad, is far more gratifying than any justification I've seen from the New York Times or other defenders of free speech and journalistic ethics as to why they recently declined to show their readers certain newsworthy cartoons.

    I read someplace (possibly on the Volokh thread about this) that the founder of Wikipedia is an objectivist, meaning that in addition to having a heroic tolerance for impenetrable prose, he's probably not going to yield to this bullshit.

    But it is nice to see a firm and well-stated refusal that isn't couched in the OMG-teh-muslimonazi-hordes language we typically see from the pants-wetter set.

    In all seriousness asif, what is so inflammatory about the images to muslims? I would love to be able to understand the outrage so that I can do something other than make fun of what I don't understand. Educate me instead of threatening me.
